A Good Tent is Important
You can leave the noise of the city behind on a tent camping adventure. Everyone should experience the joys of camping at least once.Today's world is fast paced and hectic, taking the time to slow down is one of the hidden advantages of a camping trip. To get the most benefit from your camping trip, be sure to do it right. At the center of every successful trip is the perfect camping tent.
Many bad camping stories involved a problem with the camping tent- and many a terrible camping trip were saved by having a good camp tent. Put some thought into the number of people (don't forget pets and gear) you'll have in the tent at one time, and choose the appropriate size. It's unpleasant to not be able to stretch out in a small tent. If I don't get a solid eight hours of sleep, I'm not much use the next day, and enough room to stretch is a big part of that. Remember that adequate space is probably the most overlooked, and the most important feature to look for when purchasing a tent.
Because they are considered a luxury item, tents aren't cheap. Most folks can afford a camping tent, but they can get prohibitively expensive. There's a difference between cheap and inexpensive, shop carefully for your tent. Invariably a cheap tent fails when you need it most. Take it from me a leaky tent makes for a long night. Even though you may not need the extra protection, it's there just in case.
In today's age of technology, some people are opting to camp in an RV or a popup camper. But is that a real camping experience? Not my idea of a good time, but some folks enjoy that. The secret to comfort while roughing it is a good tent, and good camp gear. When tent camping, a foam pad can help make the ground more comfortable, and you'll learn the night air is pleasant, as are the cries of the wildlife. Camping heaters are not optional!
The right tent can make a good camping trip great. Don't be dazzled by the myriad of offerings, stick to the functions you need. As part of your tent shopping checklist, be sure to account for space for everyone to sleep and stretch out. Buy a tent that can handle the prevailing weather conditions at your camp site- be it wind, rain, or snow. Pick a tent to match the climate you will be in. Camping done right is restful, adventurous and fun!

Camping Ideas for the nature lover and city lover
Camping is a luxury. No really it is! Camping relaxes and rejuvenates. It gives you a sense of wonder at the world and a sense of awe at the beauty of nature. Sometimes we forget to really take part in a camping trip for the maximum benefit. Here are some camping ideas to help make your experience more vivid and enjoyable.
Grab a fishing license and a rod and reel and go fishing. If you don't know how to fish, bring a book and read it outside, while you're eating breakfast. Fishing is the most basic and soothing pass time while in the wilderness. If you're lucky you'll catch supper. Fishing also gives you an opportunity to take part in nature rather than just observe. On that note, bring a book of camping fishing recipes with you so you can try some interesting ways to cook fish in the woods. Little hint, using different kinds of wood nearby can add a unique flavor for your fish.
Bring some books about birds and animals. One of the great opportunities of nature is seeing something you have never seen before. Many times , while hiking, I've seen birds and wanted to know which type they are. Having a book handy at the camp site will make researching it later more fun than trying to remember what it looked like when you get home. One year, in Rocky Mountain National Park, my friend and I had a disagreement about whether we'd seen a moose or an elk. To this day I insist it was an elk and he insists the opposite.
Bring a sketch pad, paints, or a digital camera. Nature can inspire magical things. Even if you don't consider yourself an artist, you can still enjoy the sketches or pictures you create. Artistry is subjective and there have been many published photographs done by amateur photographers.
Have no shame in bringing your lap top with you. As mentioned, nature is inspiring. You might find something particularly inspiring to write about. Or if your laptop has a webcam you will want to share that moment or place with someone else.
Try survival techniques. Spend a day without using any modern forms of technology (that includes matches for fire). Use a day to make markers as you hike and deliberately get lost. Use only the markers, no compass or GPS, to find your way back to camp.
I've given only a small list of ideas. There are plenty of other camping ideas which are off the beaten path, so to speak. Plant a tree in the forest, try rock climbing if there are nearby cliffs (beginners should try small areas), go skinny dipping! Nature is about stepping out of your comfort zone. Step all the way out!
